WRMN AM 1410 Aims to be the Hub for News and Entertainment in the Fox Valley
75 Years in Broadcasting
The local station that brought news and entertainment to the greater Elgin area for the past 75 years is celebrating its anniversary with a great offer for local businesses. WRMN 1410 is rolling out a new format that is aimed at bringing local news and coverage of local events and entertainment to communities in the Fox River Valley. To accomplish this, they are offering local businesses and community stakeholders the opportunity to take to the airways and share their news, events and do some marketing at a reduced rate.
WRMN’s New Focus
The radio station that served for many years as on-air shopping show is on a mission to become the hub for news, entertainment and non-biased political discussion in the Fox River Valley. WRMN airs live broadcasts with local talent every weekday from 6am to 6pm from their station in Elgin.
Dean Dalaly, Operations Manager and host of the show, Dean-o’s Night Owl, which airs on Friday afternoons from 2-4pm, said he has a goal for the new direction of the station: To be the place where you turn to find out what’s going on in your community.
“Whether it’s school closings, crime, a house fire, or local celebrations, WRMN wants to be there to bring the story to the Fox Valley,” Dean-o Said.
24 Hour Content and Local Hosts
The radio platform provides content 24-hours a day at 1410 on the AM dial with original shows like The First Shift with Marky B., Out to Lunch with Matt McNeil, and The Truth about Chicago Sports with Marcus Mac.
The station airs content produced by other outlets through the early morning hours including the Fox News Rundown and RFD Illinois; and after 6pm with shows like the Brian Kilmeade Show from 6-9pm and Tom Hartman from 9pm to Midnight.
In effort to reach listeners in the places where they prefer to receive content, the station utilizes social media platforms as well. WRMN streams their shows live on YouTube every day, taking their place in the podcast space as well as the radio airways.
“We are focused on bringing in everyone from all the Fox Valley Area communities, making it all inclusive,” Dean-o said.
Topics and Guests with a Local Spin
The WRMN team of show hosts actively seeks out community leaders to come on the air and share what is going on in their space.
“WRMN wants to be the place to hear from local mayors, police chiefs, chambers of commerce, to find out that is going on throughout the region,” he said.
The WRMN show hosts make an effort to travel to community festivals and special events to provide live coverage, commentary and interviews during events.
Member Deal for Hampshire Area Chamber
As a new member of the Hampshire Area Chamber, and in celebration of WRMN’s 75th year in business, the station is offering a special advertising rate to chamber members.
Elliott Serrano, Sales Director of the station, said the offer includes a live broadcast segment with the advertising business, 2 commercials daily for 30 days, a live production piece broadcasted on WRMN which will be available on their website and made available for the advertising business’s social media marketing for the anniversary price of $75.
